TCU falls to No. 6 West Virginia 76-67

EVANSDALE, WV - TCU (12-12) comes up short to No. 6 West Virginia (18-7) 76-67 in tonight's matchup. The lack of rebounding in tonight's game for the Horned Frogs is the reason they came up short tonight.

TCU’s offense was better than it has been all season when it came to depth. Multiple players contributed to the 67 points TCU accounted for tonight. Jaedon LeDee led the Horned Frogs with a career-high 20 points and eight rebounds. Mike Miles added 15 points and two rebounds, and Kevin Samuel had 12 points and eight rebounds. TCU’s star guard RJ Nembhard, who averages 16.6 points per game, had only five points on the night and zero points going into the half.

The Horned Frogs were having trouble shooting in the first half converting on 4-of-21 shots and had only 18 points going into the half. That is the lowest scoring half TCU has had all season.

West Virginia started the second half going up on TCU and creating a 16-point lead. The Horned Frogs did not roll over, with the help of Jaedon LeDee TCU came back and was within seven points with 10 minutes remaining in the half.

The Horned Frogs defense wasn’t stellar but it wasn’t bad either. TCU got outrebounded 43-35. The Horned Frogs came away with 11 offensive rebounds while West Virginia had 18. The rebounding and second chance opportunities that the Mountaineers had is what led them to the victory.

TCU will be back at home on Sunday for their final home game of the season against No. 15 Texas. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.

TCU Leaders:

Jaedon LeDee had 20 points nad 8 rebounds.

Mike Miles had 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Kevin Samuel had 12 points and 8 rebounds.
