TCU falls to Oklahoma 82-46

NORMAN, OK - TCU (9-5) lost to Oklahoma (7-4) 82-46 in their second matchup this season. The Horned Frogs have lost three straight games after breaking their five-game win streak.

TCU struggled the entire game offensively, they shot 35 percent (18 of 52) from the floor and 21 percent (4 of 19) from beyond the arc. They were also cold from the freethrow line, shooting 35 percent (6 of 17). This was the lowest scoring output the Horned Frogs have had this season.

The first half was a rocky start for the Horned Frogs. They got down early to Oklahoma 20-10. Their sloppy offense created many turnovers that the Sooner capitalized on.

TCU trailed the entire first half before going into the locker room down 34-24. They shot 34 percent from the floor at the half and went 0 of 8 from beyond the arc.

The second half was the same story. TCU’s offense could not get the ball to fall and Oklahoma was making it rain. De’Vion Harmon had 22 points on the night, Austin Reaves added 11 and Alondes Williams had 10.

The Horned Frogs defense could not defend Harmon, or the rest of the Sooner offense. They got outrebounded 42 to 35, giving the Sooner multiple second chance opportunities to score.

The reocurring issue for this TCU team is turnovers. They had 16 turnovers that Oklahoma created points off of. The Sooners scored double-digit points off TCU’s turnovers alone.

TCU moves to 9-5 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. TCU’s next game against No. 13 West Virginia on Saturday has been postponed. The Horned Frogs will host No. 15 Texas Tech at Schollmaier Arena on January 20.
