FORT WORTH - TCU (4-0) will try to remain unbeaten on the season as they open up conference play against Oklahoma (1-0) on Sunday.
The Horned Frogs are coming off of a shaky win this past Thursday. TCU continues their struggles on offense, only shooting 42 percent from the floor this year. TCU shot 46 percent from the floor on Thursday night, shooting only 7 of 26 beyond the arc and missing half of their free throws. With that being said they managed to put away Northwestern State and go to 4-0 on the season.
As TCU opens up conference play the upcoming contests are going to bring more competition. The Sooners are 1-0 coming into this game after only having one game this season against UTSA this past Thursday night. Oklahoma shot 50 percent from the floor, outrebounded their apponent, and played solid defense causing UTSA to turn the ball over 18 times.
Oklahoma had four players in double-digits on Thursday night. Brady Manek led the Sooners to their first win of the season with 29 points. He made it rain beyond the arc, draining eight three-pointers for the night. Devion Harmon came off the bench and added 22 points. Trey Phipps contributed 12 and Kur Kuath had 10 points.
These will be the key players that TCU will need to shut down in order to beat this Oklahoma team. The Horned Frogs are playing good defense and will need to keep these players under double-digits.
TCU keeps a big presence under the basket, they have outrebounded all of their opponents and Kevin Samuel is one block away from holding TCU’s most blocked shots at 18.
The Sooners have won the last six meetings against TCU and are favored in this afternoon’s game.
The game will be Sunday, December 6th at 3:00 p.m.
